he seems to have strong belief in his tactics. the way he talks about formations, advantages and plays excite me b/c he actually explained what the purpose of the formations were…unlike morrow just throwing out multiple formations. so far, i’ve liked all the things he has said. now, we’ll find out if what he said got thru to the team vs. NY.

The “forming, storming” stuff is straight from someone’s manual on effective teaming . . . when I was teaching M.S., our principal presented the exact same stages to the faculty (because the teachers were grouped in teams). So it’s very much from his background as a SMU “teacher.” I was amused to read that from him . . .

But otherwise, I like, overall, what I’ve read. Maybe, if he follows what he said about it “being about the player,” he really can be a strict but effect coach at the pro level.

He’s certainly saying the right kind of things. I hope he settles for a 3-man for this first game with Drew and Adrian out, and sets out to find more defensive depth during the window. His talk of combination play makes me think that he’s looking to bring in an A-Mid as well.
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

This appears to be a philosophical change from Morrow. I don’t think anyone really new their role under him and I had the impression that he did not want them to get comfortable.
