Should be a fun one. Can't play 4 in the back - we have too many good midfielders. Now we just need to implement a system that maximizes their talent.

Please no Saragosa. If we are putting him in, we may as well play 4 at the back....

I was thinking that giving Toja a carefully defined, defense-first [AA in front of him], non-central role would help him get back into his MF game.

Also, I just checked the weather report: it's not gonna cool off much (78 degrees for a pre-dawn low!)...so maybe if Avila is a little bit too deliberate, but a good handler/passer? ... and everybody else runs just enough to be open for a pass? ... (of course they should do that all the time) ... voila: possession game. Go FCD!

Toja needs to sit, but I bet management keeps him in because they are worried that he is half the team's star power. I hope that's not true.

The militia's full this game, and I need another ticket, so I'm sitting with the Toros today. I'll be sure to bring the streamers :-P

Re: Ibrahim. I got worried when the only news coming out was that he was on an indefinite personal leave - never a good thing. I hope the kid and his family are alright. Would love to see him back, if for no other reason than to know everything is okay.

Re: Lineup. I like Ze Bill's with a few comments. A 3-4-3 would work if I felt sure about Toja, not in ability but in current form/effort. I do prefer AA closer to goal, not burdened so much with trackback duties as he would have outside, so put him up top. Put Cooper out wide since we all know he'll drift there anyway. Wallace is the clear choice at LB. Let his speed and athleticism cover for Davino's lack of, and let Davino's experience cover for Wallace's lack of. I know there's a difference b/t reserve matches and the fist team, but if the reports about Avila are true, I'd like to see him get the shot at ACM. That spot needs some energy and creativity, so why not?

We need a win Saturday, kids.

{R} ROB's expansion team beat Houston last night.

AA ... Cooper ... Oduro
.......... Avila ...........
Toja .............. Rocha
........Ricchetti
Wallace ... Davino ... Moor
.....dar-REE-oh

or start Saragosa instead of Oduro if caution is stronger than hope

I've never seen Avila

Sorry to hear about Ibrahim. Hope the rumor is wrong and he comes back as I think he would be a starter next season

what we should change? - GM

as far as toja, i'd much rather keep him in the lineup as a holding CM instead of marcelo. i know toja hasn't been productive, but he's better than marcelo, IMO.

i'm also up for giving eric avila a shot...at least as a sub. since we were throwing out blake and wally out there, why not give eric a shot.

I like the idea of putting Rocha in A-Mid.. I think he has all the right stuff for that position, but he needs to continue to improve in his form..

It's that left Wing back position that has me worried. I'm not sure Arturo is the right guy for that position... not even for one game.

I'd like to see Oduro get more time on the field. If he doesn't start let's at least sub him in earlier. I think he plays well alongside Cooper.

What about Avila? I'd like to see more of him, but having not yet seen him play I don't know where he falls into the line up. Does he have a preferred side/foot?

With a new coach, I would hope that every position be open for grabs.

Thanks Buzz, always look forward to these. I think Toja will start...if 100% or close. But sitting for a game or two might be what he needs, who knows?! If he was playing like last year, Morrow would still be here.

I would much prefer Wallace or Daniels at left defense. I like Pitch, but is he really fast enough to play there? Seems much more suited to the middle.
