Atlético Paranaense Honors FC Dallas

April 18th, 2008 . 10:17 am . By: Buzz Carrick

Here’s how you know when your partner deal is going well.  FC Dallas partner Clube Atlético Paranaense has debuted their uniforms for their upcoming season and included is a “FC Dallas Tribute” third jersey in red and white hoops.

Now it’s one thing when the little brother does something to honor the big brother, but when the big brother does the honoring that’s really saying something about how they perceive the partnership.

You may also recall that FC Dallas honored Tigres with a Tigres colored third jersey a few seasons ago.  (Editor note: I’m Still trying to get my hands on one if someone has one they are willing to part with).

Could a Atlético Paranaense themed third jersey for FCD be far behind?

Thanks to 3rd Degree’s good friends at Furacao.com for the pictures.  For those of you that don’t know the site it’s just like 3rd Degree but for Atlético, or at least I’d like to think we’re that good.  Furacão means hurricane in Portuguese, Hurricane being the slang name for CAP.

Now that is cool. Not as cool as loaning us two good players, but cool nonetheless!

I wish they were designing our kits!

Wow, Is it wrong to like that jersey more than ours?

Have you asked Bobby about the FCD/Tigres jersey?

If only FCD could wear those, too. Simple, clean, and just plain good looking – everything the current FCD kit is not.

If they make a red and black hooped kit, I’ll certainly snap one up.

I agree these look much better. Ditch the red shorts. This is much cleaner looking.

Bravo to CAP! Makes us feel almost big time.

that’s why they’re big time…they know how to make things work and look good. those kits look very nice.

Great looking kit. Too bad it’s not ours.

It still has the solid white back that everyone loves. And the “hoop” on the bottom doesn’t quite match up on the back. Go to their website and take a look at some of the other photos. The 100% front view looks great, but it’s not perfect – just like ours. However, I do think it’s very cool that they did this. I’m just not gaga over it like everyone else.

Also, I believe they used to have a ton of those blue Tigres tribute jerseys in the team shop. Problem is, they all had Ruiz’s name on them. Of course, this means they’re very likely on super-clearance.

[...] CAP even has a “FCD” third jersey.  The only thing missing is a FCD third jersey that would honor Paranaense, black and white hoops anyone? (with white shorts please.)  [...]

CAP’s third jerseys beat FCD’s first, IMHO.
