Rocha Gets Visa
March 13th, 2008 . By: Buzz CarrickAndré Rocha has received his P1 visa and is getting a flight tonight to Dallas. The Brazilian midfielder will be available for selection this weekend. The player should be signing his contract when he arrives in the states. FC Dallas will eventually have to make a roster move to accommodate the player. No word yet as to which player will make way to add Rocha. Since Roberto Mina wasn’t signed there is an open international spot, but Rocha will still require a senior roster spot. Dominic Oduro and Aaron Pitchkolan are both eligible to be on the developmental roster this season and one of them could be moved down. Since DouDou Toure is not officially signed as of yet, a player could be moved down to the developmental roster without FCD having to make a move. Stay tuned to see what FCD does to accommodate Rocha on the roster. 9 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

would oduro or pitchkolan be willing to be moved down? that is the question
they may not have a whole lot of choice.
They have a choice, they can become free agents and triple their salaries in the A-league or move to another lower league in the world if they have the courage to do it.
Pitch will leave if they try to move him down, don’t know anout Dom.
Buzz, by picking player options and it being past 3-1-08 aren’t the players going to be paid until 7-1-08 regardless of being waived or released?
i would think that FCD will keep pitch since he’s one of their main backups at CB. i believe we have more options at the fwd spot w/ artie, abe and even brek.
WHomever moves down will eventually be dropped when Toure is signed. My guessis Oduro.
so who is gone?
Len, I don’t think so. Contracts are guaranteed till much later in the season. That’s why so few people have fully guaranteed contracts in this league, so teams can waive them when they want.
Mike, No one yet. No one will have to be cut until Toure signs.
I’m guessing Oduro at some point. Too bad, but someone will have to go.
