Dax McCarty has been voted to the Best XI for the CONCACAF U23 Olympic Qualifying Tournament for his outstanding play in midfield.  It’s a well-deserved honor for McCarty, who was the lynch pin possession player in midfield.  Also selected for the US were Michael Orozco, Maurice Edu, and Freddy Adu. Sacha Kljestan was named one of seven Honorable Mentions.  The All-Tournament Team was selected by the CONCACAF Technical Study Group and features the “Best XI” along with seven Honorable Mentions.

The 2008 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualification concludes on Sunday (23 March) at LP field with Guatemala taking on Canada in the third place match. Meanwhile, Honduras and USA, who have already qualified to the Olympic Football Tournament Beijing 2008, will meet in the final of the CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualification with the winner to be crowned the Confederation’s Under-23 Champion.
