Defender Trialist
March 8th, 2008 . 10:37 am . By: Buzz CarrickWord has come to us of a trialist finally arriving in Brazil, a defender by the name of Roque Júnior. One imagines Roque Júnior is not that unusual a name, so we’re not sure which Roque Júnior it is. Could it be this Roque Júnior? 7 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

If it’s that one, he comes directly from playing in the Bundesliga. Sounds interesting.
Weren’t there supposed to be 4 potential trialists?
Two trialists and a potential CAP player.

“Roque Junior has walked out on Bundesliga strugglers Duisburg and returned home to Brazil.
The 31-year-old former Brazil international joined the league’s bottom club on a contract until the end of the season late last year but has now left after making just a handful of appearances.”
“My physical fitness hasn’t improved and I no longer see myself as being mentally fit enough to do well in the Bundesliga,” said the former AC Milan and Palmeiras defender.
“My decision is final. I’m going back to Brazil with my family.”
Remember Morrow saying he was looking to Germany with an eye on a player way back in December / January…….could it be him?
Line up:
Roque Moor
Davino
??????????
If i remember correctly…Roque Junior was a central defender with Lucio in the cup. how would he fair on the end?
“My physical fitness hasn’t improved and I no longer see myself as being mentally fit enough to do well in the Bundesliga,” said the former AC Milan and Palmeiras defender.
This quote worries me. MLS may not be nearly up to the standard of the Bundesliga, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still require a high standard of mental and physical fitness. Unless he’s getting his act together, it’s a definite pass for me.
Looks like someone at BigSoccer’s had their way with that Wiki page.
maybe he said that quote b/c:
1. he really feels old and out of shape, or…
2. he’s frustrated about not getting playing time
