FCD Schedule Released
February 8th, 2008 . By: Buzz CarrickMLS has released the 2008 Regular Season Schedule and FCD opens their season on March 30th against Chivas USA at Pizza Hut Park. FCD’s opening day will be televised nationally on TeleFutura at 2:00 PMCT. TeleFuture in Dallas is KSTR ch. 49. FCD Press Release Schedule AnalysisIn the League’s 13th season, each of the 14 clubs will play 30 Regular Season games over 31 weeks from March 29 – Oct. 26. Each team will play each other twice (home and away), for 26 games. The remaining four games will be played against different intra-conference teams (two home and two away), with consideration given to rivalries. - Twenty five of the 30 games will be played on either Saturday or Sunday.
- Eleven of the 15 regular season home games are on either Saturday or Sunday; three are on MLS Primetime Thursdays on ESPN2; one is on Friday, the 4th of July. - In the Western Conference, the four teams FC Dallas will play on three occasions are: Los Angeles Galaxy (two home, one away), Real Salt Lake (one home, two away), Colorado Rapids (two home, one away), and Houston Dynamo (one home, two away). - Twenty of FC Dallas’s 30 regular season games will be available on national TV.
- For the third consecutive year, FCD will play on the 4th of July at Pizza Hut Park, this year against the Kansas City Wizards (6:00 p.m. CT, HDNet), with the game followed by a concert and fireworks show. The local TV schedule will be announced at a later date. Three different season ticket packages are currently available: Full Season Packages (20 home games) – from $280-$1,800; Half-Season Packages (10 home games) – from $160-$460; and Mini-Game Package (5 home games) – from $90-$240. The 20-game and 10-game packages each include two home games vs. LA Galaxy, while the 5-game package only includes one. Will all of the playoff games be nationally televised this year?
FCD fans in outlying areas might be pleasantly surprised how strong channel 49 Telefutura’s broadcast signal is. I get a perfect picture out here in Wise County.
Ze Bill…. so does Telefutura’s broadcast come in clear enough that you can distinguish one team from the other if the jersey’s are similar?
Denilson signed today with Palmeiras in Brazil, under coach Luxemburgo (ex-Real Madrid)….
