Jade,

Calm down. :)

Or I should say . . . look at the report objectively. All of these guys are in "pre-season." And Duilio, we all know, will be working to mesh with his new team mates. But the 3rd Degree reporters will report what they see. Heck, my fav (you know who) didn't have much of a match, either. It just can't be easy staying in shape over two months, especially when you're used to the "team training" atmosphere. They go to Brazil at the end of the week. I expect that they'll all come back a lot closer to being match fit. :)

Not saying that Davino won't play well this year. But he did play a bit differently than the other center backs we have seen this pre-season by staying further back, in a sweeper role. That might be how it is done in Mexico, but few teams in Europe utilize a sweeper.

He just wasn't sharp in this particular performance. I am sure he will be just fine for the season, but I was giving a report on this particular game.

Well of course Duilio Davino wasn't interested in this game. What do you expect? He's used to playing against real teams like Chivas, Cruz Azul, and UNAM. How you expect him to be excited is beyond me.

As far as I know the central defender is usually the last defender on the field. So of course he's going to be behind the other two defenders. I've been watching European & Mexican soccer for awhile now and that's usually how it's done. Maybe the MLS is different.

Before you start cirticizing the way Duilio plays you should let him adjust to the league first.Sheesh  Give him atleast a few games before you start complaining. He's in a totally new country and a different league. Not everyone adjusts fast or very well. Some players never adjust.

sounds like davino is currently our worst but highest paid defender, sounds about right for a steve morrow team.
might be over pretty quick for morrow unless he gets some players in soon and even then he would still be coaching and that won't help.

great to hear that dax is at it again, playing at a very high level. maybe he's much better suited centrally than out wide-right. i would probably prefer rocha at RM b/c he'd be more of a threat. i'm also liking the reports on eric avila. he'd probably make a very good CAM.

hopefully, some guys get in better shape so they can start playing longer and building chemistry.

All and all it was a good match for us. The movement was very good and I'm glad that the boys actually played with width. Dom's passing and his vision really surprised me but his ability to go at players worries me.
