February 19th, 2008 . 3:57 pm . By: Buzz CarrickThat’s six goalkeeper coaches in the last four seasons by my count: Jan Van Beveren, Alan Knight, Jeff Cassar, Shaka Hislop, Nestor Merlo, and now Drew Keeshan. Hopefully this one will stick around longer than a season. Drew Keeshan Joins FC Dallas Coaching StaffFC Dallas Head Coach Steve Morrow announced today the addition of goalkeeper coach Drew Keeshan to the coaching staff. The 33-year-old, who spent the 2007 season as an assistant coach at Clemson University, joins fourth-year assistant Marco Ferruzzi and recently-hired Jorge Alvial on the FCD staff. Born in Tipperary, Ireland, Keeshan began his professional career with Waterford United in 1993, and then had stints at Galway United, Kilkenny City and Limerick Football Club, all in the League of Ireland. Keeshan was a part of the Galway team that earned a promotion to the Premier Division at the end of the 1998-1999 season. Keeshan’s college playing career included two years at Lindsey Wilson College from 1996-1998, reaching the NAIA national championship tournament in 1997. After two years at Lindsey Wilson, Keeshan played two years at Life University, again reaching the national championship tournament in 1999. He graduated from Life University with a B.S. degree in Dietitics in 2001, earning Salutatorian honors. Keeshan holds both a USSF B and USSF Goalkeeper license, and has served as an assistant for the Augusta Fireball of the PDL (2005-2006), head goalkeeping coach for the Georgia Olympic Development Program (2002-2007), and goalkeeper staff coach for ODP Region III (2004-2007). Prior to joining Clemson, he served as an assistant coach at Emory University in 2006. 1 Comment(s) Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

You would think that having 6 coaches in 4 years would hurt the team but Dario is still Super Dario and RayJ is the future of the USMNT.
