Watson Off to Canada

February 10th, 2008 . 5:04 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

Jamie Watson is off to Canada for a trail with Toronto FC.

Watson was invited to stay in Dallas and train by Steve Morrow so FCD could take a further look at him.  Likely the only spot in Dallas available will be on the developmental roster.

It’s unclear at this time if Watson will return to Dallas at a later date.

from reading the scrimmage report, he didn’t step it up as they hoped he would. maybe all for the better so that we can see more of the guys we have on our roster

It’s really not about performance, SM has already slotted players into roster spots and Watson wouldn’t make the 18 man roster if he scored 3 goals a scrimmage.

I dont know why everyone on this site is all over this guy. he is not that good and if you watched the scrimmage you would be crazy to think he could make this roster.

cause he’s local, young, a former US 18, and got invited by Morrow to stick around/continue his trail.

He was U17 and U20. I saw the scrimmage and he is actually better than his showing Sat, even though he had 2 goals and how-ever-many assists. Maybe he needs to work on conditioning because he looked like he was sucking wind at times.

Didn’t he do well at T&T?

Sat was nothing more than a scrimmage for Watson..didn’t need to impress anyone since he had already had discussions with Morrow. Can’t really blame the guy for being rusty since he didn’t play much last year.
