February 6th, 2008 . 1:26 pm . By: Chamo Jones

Mid winter is time for the home show, boat show, car show, and this weekend it’s time for Ticketstock. Sala will be at FC Dallas booth on Friday from 4 to 5 pm. Yi and Wagner will be at the FC Dallas booth on Saturday from 4 to 5 pm. More details about the event are here: Ticketstock events.

Kudos to Bob Sturm for pointing out the Sala appearance during his radio show, or should I say Baby Arm to you!?!?

What is Ticketstock, exactly? Can anyone provide a brief description?

It’s a basically a guy convention. There are booths for all kinds of things, mostly centered on things guys or sports fans would be interested in. The hosts from the ticket are on hand and do live shows and bits from the event. There is always a long list of athletes on hand to sign autographs.

It is a Charity Fund raising event and big promotional event for the local sports radio station to invite various pro athletes to meet with their public. Lots of little giveaways, t-shirts, stickers, etc.

Soccer between 4-5 only, each afternoon.

What’s a P1? The rare times I tune into strip-club-talk radio I hear this expression all the time, but it still baffles me.

Chaz, can you post the times they actually discuss sports on that station? Although, it’s doubtless a very narrow window, I might try to check it out sometime.

P1 is an inside radio term used when discussing ratings. Those listeners who choose a station as their first preference to listen to are considered that stations P1 listeners.

They talk sports when there is sports to talk. The difference between the Ticket and other sports stations is that they do not force it when there is really nothing interesting in the world of sports to talk about.
