So the other day at the Supporters Club Christmas Party, Hitchcock says…
Dallas Cup XXIX has finalized the field for the 2008 Super Group for their 29th addition. Last year’s Super Group Champions Sao Paulo open the tournament against local representatives Andromeda SC on March 16th with a 3:00 p.m. kick-off at Pizza Hut Park Stadium in Frisco. Following the 5:00 p.m Opening Day Ceremonies, the 7:00 p.m. match-up will feature Liverpool FC and Slavija FK.
As we discussed last week MLS has finally officially announced the rules changes for the 2008 MLS season. Here’s a quick look at the rules and how they effect FC Dallas.
The eight teams are split between Group A – América, Atlas, Toluca and Morelia and Group B – Cruz Azul, Pumas, Monterrey and San Luis. The fifth edition of the tournament that determines two berths for Mexicans clubs to the Copa Libertadores will take place in Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles starting on Wednesday, January 2, 2008.

So like I was saying, games aren’t played on paper. Wake Forest plays the more beautiful soccer and has more talent, but Ohio State plays what we will call more efficient soccer that can win games. It was a heck of a lot of fun being here in Cary, NC, if a bit cold. At least it was warmer than last time the College Cup was here.
It’s College Cup time and if you’ve read any one of the 40 game reports out there you know Wake Forest beat Virginia Tech 2-0 and Ohio State defeated UMass 1-0. As usual I’m taking a look at this game from the prospective of the pro game. Will any of these players be good enough for MLS?
Yes, a trade for Ruiz to LA almost went down…
In the midst of a great report by Steve Hunt about player options is the following tidbit that is of great interest to FCD followers.
