FC Dallas midfielders Dax McCarty and Arturo Alvarez have been called to Peter Nowak’s next U23 camp January 6 to 20 in Bradenton, Florida, in preparation for the 2008 CONCACAF Men’s Under-23 Championship.
FC Dallas defender Drew Moor is one of 26 players called by Bob Bradley into the Jan 3rd training camp at the Home Depot Center. Former FCD defender Clarence Goodson, recently selected by San Jose in the expansion drat, was also included. The group will prepare for the USA’s first match of 2008, a friendly against Sweden on Jan. 19 at The Home Depot Center. The match will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT.
The defender pool is one of the most talented and deep pools in this year’s collection and may be one of the deepest in quite a few years. Not only is there big time talent at the top, but there is a nice selection of players with potential pro ability that may run into the double figures. Particularly at center back there are quite a few interesting prospects. The second ten have some very nice prospects, but there are some “has a chance” guys in the 20s.

It’s the holiday season so what better way to kick off the family vacation than a few FC Dallas songs.
There’s no Chris Seitz or Brad Guzan like can’t miss prospects in the senior class. There a couple of underclassmen that might yet factor in this draft like US Youth International Josh Lambo or Cal sophomore Stefan Frei. Since no underclassmen can join the draft without signing in advance, we’ll only worry about seniors until MLS tells which underclassmen sign around the time of the combine in January.
