Alvarez Apologizes
November 5th, 2007 . 2:56 pm . By: Buzz CarrickUsing Glenn Davis’ blog as his forum of choice, Arturo Alvarez has apologized for the red card he received in game 2 of the MLS Cup Playoffs. “It was stupid, immature,” said Alvarez of his ejection. “I knew the importance of the game. I let my team, coaches, fans and organization down. It’s the worst decision I have made in my career. I will think about it a long time.” 10 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

I believe we’ll all think about it a long time
I applaud him for being a man and apologizing. It doesn’t make what he did ok but i don’t dislike him as much and im sure by the start of next season i will yell his name when he scores just like everyone else.
Buzz- you think the forum is kind of odd? Who is he apologizing to on a Houston-centric blog? I know Glenn Davis’ covers “national” soccer, but he’s like the spokesman for Houston soccer.
I believe Davis coached Arturo when he was younger.
I think this is good. Thank you, Alvarez.
I’m sure that he will be harder on himself than any of the fans will be (outside of those who think he should go, perhaps). My reaction, when it happened was “oh no, not again! (along with why why why why why?). But I haven’t been that upset with him — just really disappointed.
I think he’s the kind of player that will learn from his mistake and be a better player for it.
Would that we all never had our own “stupid moments”!
P.S. I will think even more highly of him if he gets up the courage to appologize on the FCD Blog.
Alvarez should be gone from FCD forever! he is lucky this is the U.S. There is NO excuse, if this was England he would have death threats!
Or as Becks would say, “def frets”.

Classic!
Dallas is up by 2 goals (aggregate)
For no obvious reason AA knees Davis in the groin right in front of the ref.
AA is from Houston.
Was this intentional?
It did not look like there was enough going on in that play to cause a “kneeing”.
