Top Ten: Goals of 2007

October 15th, 2007 . 3:00 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

FCD has opened up voting for the team’s 2007 post season awards to FCD Season Ticket Holders and FCD Hoops Nation members. Included in the voting is a new category for Goal of the Year.  Sure there is one more game left in the regular season, but the list of ten goals is pretty good.

The video clips are owned by FCD and 3rd Degree is not hosting them nor reproducing them.  We just figured FCD wouldn’t mind us sharing the goals with the fans.  So if you use or reproduce these clips make sure you give FCD the credit and not us, and for that matter get their permission.

for me it’s Alvarez’ goal in the USOC. it was a brilliant and unique individual effort that had me screaming and jumping in my apartment. the USOC was a prominent stage, the biggest game in American soccer, and during a bad time for FCD that goal made us look like we deserved to be there.

If Alvarez’ right foot was only half as good as his left foot… he would be more fun to watch

I had to vote for the Chris Gbandi Gboal against RSL. Watching that Gboal live was amazing – the build up happened right in front of us and I had a perfect view of the shot, the path of the ball, and could see it slide past the keepr off the post – and I immediately thought: that’s gonna be the goal of the year.

That USOC goal by Artie was REALLY nice as well, but I’d already decided to go with the Gbandi Gbame winner!

they were all pretty good, but i’m gonna go with the Toja goal in DC… that was a fun game to attend and being able to rub it in the DC fans faces

I gotta go with the Gbandi wonder strike, regardless of what anyone thinks of Gbandi that goal was ridiculous! we were sitting just to Gbandi’s left as he shot with our friend at his first FCD game, we were left speechless
