LOL, good stuff FriscoFan! I’m sorry to harp on this but it’s true Ghbandi is not only a foolish player; but the lack of heart is what concerns me. I would figure Wags has to be a better option.

Oh, and Matthew Broomhall please go back to school for English Composition I. I will need a five paragraph essay over the subject of why you think Ghbandi is so good. Remember that you will be graded on spelling, punctuation, and as always points will be taken off for curse words and use of the word “ya’ll.”

Sorry Tex. Not this time. Gbandi is NOT one of the top LBs in the MLS. He is a very dumb player. Maybe one of the 3-4 dumbest players in the league. How many games has this guy cost us with red cards? That’s just plain stupid, lazy play. Gbandi needs to be Gonedi.

I’m not sure about seeing more of Wags, so bring on Wagner.

Skeeter, Morrow thinks very highly of Wagner and expects him to be very good. But right now he’s just too inconsistent to get a run in the team. He’s still having too many ups and downs in training. Which I suppose is part of being as young as he is.

Time to get down off Chris Gbandi’s butt now, I think everybody has gotten their shots in by now. The facts are these; Chris is the best left back we have, he’s one of the top 3-4 LB’s in MLS and we need him to forget about this game and play his best the rest of the season. He may be mistake prone at times but that’s why he’s in MLS and not playing for a big club across the pond. Last offseason he had an offer in Sweden but we wouldn’t let him go. I’m thankful we didn’t.
Every player has had poor games this year so let’s give Chris a pass now and get behind the team for this stretch run.

I really thought we would have seen Wagner by now. I may be wrong, but I don’t even remember him being dressed for a game this season.

Hey Uptown-

To answer your question, from my perspective, the nickname debate has been a pretty polarizing issue with Dallas fans since the “Burn” went away in 2004.

I like the “River Plate North” banner the Inferno has trotted out for Sala, Ricchetti, and Toja. But you’re right- our team is truly a melting pot of geographic influences.

In my old ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ preview column, back in 2005, I called the team a different nickname every week to see how they resonated, but Hoops eventually won out.

I say, call them whatever sounds good to you and if it’s catchy others may join in too. For right now, I am more concerned by the team’s form, because if it continues my nicknames are going to get a bit more negative…you don’t even have to be an old fan to see where the season is going right now.
