FCD News Recap

September 1st, 2007 . 8:17 am . By: Chamo Jones

Once upon a time DC United rarely beat the Dallas Burn on their visits to the Cotton Bowl. Dallas routinely poured it on with two or three goal victories and watched DC United players get the “frustration” red cards. They were winning MLS cups, but they couldn’t beat Dallas. To rub it in even deeper, the only time they met in a final Dallas won that as well (USOC 97). Then Dallas rebranded and moved to Frisco, and DC has not lost to Dallas at Pizza Hut Park since. Will today take us back to the good ole’ days?

Oh yeah! One more thing. A flashy brasilian that you probably have heard before will be available to play for Dallas today.

Revolution’s Petkovic signing on hold
Defender Dusan Petkovic’s signing with the Revolution has been postponed after he sustained a calf strain in training this week. Petkovic is not expected to resume training until next week. The Revolution signed midfielder Sainey Nyassi, a member of Gambia’s Under-20 national team; waived forward Arsene Oka and midfielder Ryan Solle; and acquired FC Dallas’s first-round supplemental draft choice next year for salary budget considerations. Nyassi’s U-20 teammate, forward Abdoulie Ken Mansally, is expected to join the Revolution after receiving clearance from his former club in Gambia . . .
