FCD News Recap

July 31st, 2007 . 8:10 am . By: Chamo Jones

FC Dallas attempts to make history by advancing to Super Liga semi finals. The team has not won a must win game to advance game since 1999 when Dallas knocked the defending champions Chicago Fire in one of the most memorable games in franchise history; a come from behind 3-2 victory after spotting the Fire two goals in the first 5 minutes of the game.

The last two years have been especially painful as the Colorado Rapids have knocked FC Dallas in penalty kicks in front of the home fans in these win or go home games. It will not go to penalty kicks tonight. FC Dallas can only advance with a win. A draw or a loss will eliminate them.

Coach Morrow could use the revenge angle as additional inspiration for his troops. Two years ago FC Dallas lost to the LA Galaxy in the final of the US Open Cup, 1-0, at the Home Depot Center.

One more thing. Did you hear? Beckham will not play tonight.
