Swift Added to Latin American Advisory Board

July 26th, 2007 . 7:08 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

MLS has rectified an error they made with the recently announced a Latin American Advisory Board, by naming former Dallas Burn General Manager Andy Swift to the committee.  Sources familiar with the situation did not know if MLS would make a further announcement of the change.

It’s unclear why he was not on the original list, but Swift’s success reaching the Latin market while running the Dallas Burn with a very limited budget has never been matched by FCD, nor anyone else in MLS, since.  Swift has consulted for numerous soccer outfits since stepping down as Dallas GM, including sports related entities in Mexico, SUM, and Major League Soccer.

Andy is one of the most deserving individuals I can think of for this type of opportunity. He has a multi-cultural background, coupled with years of experience working in soccer, marketing, hispanic community outreach, and grassroots growth strategies.

Not to mention he’s a good guy to have a beer with after the game!
