Beckham Game Sold Out

July 26th, 2007 . 7:24 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

According to FC Dallas, the “Beckham Game” of the SuerLiga featuring the LA galaxy at Pizza Hut Park against the red stripes has sold out.  Only standing room tickets remain for sale to the public.

Unfortunately, several news outlets are quoting sources that say Beckham will not play again until August 5th, thus missing the game here in Dallas.

One wonders how a sold out crown might react to that.

Anyway, here’s the FCD ticket announcement if you still want some standing room seats… well not seats.

Standing Room Only Available for July 31 SuperLiga Match

FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, July 26, 2007) – FC Dallas announced today that seats for its SuperLiga™ match versus the Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday, July 31 at Pizza Hut Park (7 pm CT) are sold out. Fans may still purchase Standing Room Only tickets for that game at $30 each. Standing Room Only tickets are limited, and can be purchased through all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling the front office at 888.FCD.GOAL (888.323.4625) or by visiting www.fcdallas.net.

FC Dallas tied its first SuperLiga™ game versus Chivas de Guadalajara 1-1 on July 24. FCD continues play in Group A on Sat. July 28 at Pizza Hut Park when they take on Mexican powerhouse Pachuca FC at 7 pm CT. Tickets for July 28 are still available, starting at $20, and can be purchase through all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling 888.FCD.GOAL.

Dallas will finish group play on Tuesday, July 31 with a game against the Los Angeles Galaxy at 7 pm CT.

The top two teams from each Group A and Group B, which consists of Houston Dynamo, D.C. United, Club America, and Morelia, will advance to the SuperLiga™ semifinals on August 14 and 15.

The winner of the inaugural SuperLiga™, the preeminent club tournament in North America, will not only become the singular club champion of the region, but will also receive the heftiest winner’s purse in North American soccer history – $1 million.

if he doesnt play. he is obligated to come to the game and make a halftime appearance or a pregame appearance and maybe a autograph session after the game. thats only fair to the fans that paid to see him.

ye, i def agree with you fc dizzle. i understand that a player cannot be “guaranteed” to play, but when the fc dallas organization decided to have significantly higher ticket prices for this one game, there better be an above average game experience, which is basically impossible without becks on the field.

StubHub.com and eBay have tickets available. And not for exhorbitent prices either.

dizzle is right….this is his only appearance this season at PHP, so something should happen. Betting FCD and MLS will put some pressure on LA for him to make a game appearance though.

Agreed. Hopefully it won’t be a case of “sorry, but too bad!”.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the ticket prices for the Beckham match are the same as the prices for the other SuperLiga matches. Although I agree that $60 to see FCD play the Gals is exorbitant with or without Goldenballs and whether or not part of a tournament.

Big B: you are wrong, because for the two other superliga matches, an endline seat costs $20, whereas for the galaxy game they were priced at $35. i would know because i have tickets to both games.
