FCD News Recap

July 25th, 2007 . 7:44 am . By: Chamo Jones

Something fishy was going on last night, and I’m not talking about Carlos Ruiz. The ref initially raised his hand and put the whistle to his mouth to call the handball , and then reversed his decision once Olvera’s shot went in. I wonder who has jurisdiction over the referee assessments in this tournament. USSF? FMF? CONCACAF?

The answer to yesterday’s trivia question was that it snowed during the game. Great big snowflakes that melted as soon they hit the warm turf of the Cotton Bowl.

Read the DMN article. Nunez has asked to be traded. He argued with Rhine after Monday’s practice? I think that basically cemented his future.

I bought into Ramon starring this year, and was excited when it seemed like he was ready for the responsibility. I don’t think he played well enough to deserve a starting spot, and it seems like he doesn’t want to stay. He def has talent and was a gamble. I think Toja’s attacking play sealed ramon’s fate.
