Toja Named MLS Player of the Week

Juan Toja has been voted the MLS Player of the Week by the Professional Soccer Reporters Association (PSRA) for his two-goal performance against D.C. United. Toja to the biggest comeback in franchise history as he scored two late goals that helped earn FC Dallas (9-6-3, 30 pts) a 3-3 tie on the road versus D.C. United on Sat. The result marked only the third time in MLS history that a team came back to earn at least a tie after being down by three goals or more. Click here to see his two goals versus DC.

 Toja earned his Player of the Week honor almost exactly one-year to the date of the last time an FC Dallas player won the award. On July 15, 2006, Kenny Cooper scored the game-winning goal and added an assist to lift FC Dallas to a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Fire, for which he was recognized as the Player of the Week (16).
