Yi Out
July 12th, 2007 . 4:42 pm . By: Buzz CarrickAlex Yi was forced to leave the Rio Grande Plate game against Tigres at Pizza Hut Park on Wednesday night with an apparent injury to his hamstring. Today FCD announced that Yi has a Grade-2 tear of his left hamstring and has been ruled out 4 to 6 weeks. The timing is not very good for Yi, who had performed fairly well for FCD this season. Recently he had come under challenge for a starting spot from Aaron Pitchkolan and with the eminent return of Adrian Serioux playing time was going to be even harder to come by. Hamstring injuries are notoriously hard to return from and can have several setbacks if pushed to return early. It may be some time before Yi takes the field again for FCD. Yi has started 13 of the 17 regular season games this year at center back. 12 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

Well, that sucks. Hope he recovers strong. Our depth continues to be tested.
I have to wonder if Yi should have been cleared to play in the first play. He has has a hami problem for the last couple of weeks. Perhaps another questionable decision from the Medical Staff?
Oh man . . . that really does suck. A lot. I also question teh medical staff but I know if it was left to Yi, he probably pushed to play so he could keep his spot. He really has had this lingering hamstring problem. Get well soon!
I hope Pitch can step it up.
May I respectfully request a roster dance update?
Yes you may, my apologies. I have slacked on that after the season started. My bad.
It’s a shame Alex can’t play in his hometown this weekend, I hope he still travels with the team to have some of mom’s homecooking. Get well soon Alex.
Does he just rest it now or does he have PT or surgery?
What do you do with a grade 2 tear? PT? Surgery? Rest?
What are the next steps for Yi? PT? Surgery? Just rest?
i am having issues posting here. why?
not sure what you mean by issues as your post is showing up…
Sorry, it wasn’t showing up yesterday!
