FC Dallas attempts to make history by advancing to Super Liga semi finals.
The Galaxy have struggled all season in MLS play, and the poor run of form has extended into the US Open Cup and SuperLiga tournaments. Across all competitions, LA have won just 3 of their last 15 games. They are a desperate team making desperate moves and not even a certain superstar will be able to right this ship.
FC Dallas GM Michael Hitchcock made it official this late afternoon with his statement concerning Tuesday’s match against Los Angeles. But the manner in which he has gone about it isn’t going to make anyone who paid to see “Golden Balls” feel any better. In fact, it kind of stinks.
In what should have been a predictable move, Beckham did not make the trip to Dallas for Tuesday’s SuperLiga game.
The Superliga matches are proving that MLS teams can produce an entertaining match to watch on a hot summer night – when something is on the line. MLS should learn from what they are seeing from their four teams. $1,000,000 on the line means that sides, even the history laden Mexican teams, are willing to put a little something extra in their game to come out on top.
Beckham-mania is here…

After 73 scoreless minutes that included a disallowed goal for FC Dallas, the Hoops went ahead as Carlos Ruiz poked in a Bobby Rhine cross spilled by Pachuca keeper Miguel Calero. As the clock wound down and Pachuca threw everything forward, Adrian Serioux clipped Damian Alvarez in the box. Christian Gimenez converted the PK to keep Pachuca alive in the Superliga tournament going into the third set of group matches.
FC Dallas unable to seal the deal.
