I think that Rhine's experience, leadership, attitude, and versatility makes him a valuable guy to have on the bench. He is a utility player and should be judged as such. He can be used in a pinch at any position. If he had the same quality as any of the starters, then that would be his role and someone else would be in the utility role. I don't see how Rhine has become the fall guy for the last two losses.
Full Disclosure: I have been a Burn/FCD fan for some time, and thus a Bobby Rhine fan, so admittedly my opinions on Rhine may be less the objective.

I have to think Rhine's comin goff the bench may have hurt his numbers this season too. He's not playing as much first team ball and can't be expected to be fully sharp when he's playing 15 minutes here and there.

I do think he's invaluable on the team for his leadership and his versatility. He has played every position except keeper for this team, and with ranks being thinned by injuries and callups I think it's good to have him.

His performance has dropped off a bit this season, but I still think his sub role is causing some of that.

Okay let's lighten up on Bobby. The brilliant CC made him a defender at age 30 and he clearly struggled from day one. He survived in the league as a sometimes starter but usually a late game sub who brought energy to the attack until the position change. Rhine's one of the good guys and could still help back in his original capacity. His days as a defender are/should be over. The team may have given up on Jason Moore a little too quickly although I think Drew Moor will be an outstanding RB given time.

USL D1 player at best... Nice guy, good attitude, offers potential getting forward, but a calamity in the back.
Never had it as a defender. Full stop.
Should be coaching with FCD Youth (or with Dir's club full-time).

Rhine is basically overrated... we just haven't had any decent players to take him out of the starting lineup but now we do

Unfotunately, this is a case where the numbers reflect what happens with the player on the field. Rhine has had trouble keeping up with players all year long, and has had to resort to either commiting fouls in very dangerous places or playing matador defense (OLE!)

GAA is the best stat to use to rate defenders. Bobby should be tried in the right side of the midfield and give Dax a break. Dax has struggled all season has has made Moor & Yi's job much more difficult covering his numerous errors.

I think Bobby isn't quite ready to go yet, despite those numbers. GAA isn't really a good stat for defenders, since there are so many other factors that go into why goals get scored.

But when he is done, I've said for years that Bobby will one day coach this team. I think Steve Morrow is already grooming him. Just my observations though; I have no inside information.
