Patrick McCabe, Managing Director for First Wave Sports and Ronnie O’Brien’s agent, has denied his client is seeking to leave Dallas this winter. “Ronnie O’Brien plans to be back in Dallas next season.” said McCabe via email. “There have been various rumors circulating for week regarding trades. No trade has been agreed for Ronnie with Toronto.”

McCabe’s comments come in response to a query from 3rd Degree’s regarding our article reporting O’Brien might be on the move, with one possible destination being Toronto. The comments also partially conflict with several of 3rd Degree’s sources that place McCabe in Dallas as late as last week trying to facilitate just such a move.

One correction from our previous story, where we cited sources indicating O’Brien had sold his house, further investigation shows the house has merely been listed for sale. While O’Brien has made several statements this year to players and media about his desire to leave the team, perhaps the coaching change has caused a change of heart for the player. The current lack of resolution with the coaching situation may delay matters for some time, but it is by no means an irreconcilable relationship with O’Brien and FC Dallas.
